Mt. Fuji Captured by ALOS

The above image of Mt. Fuji in Japan is the first captured by Japan's recently launched Advanced Land Observing Satellite (ALOS). The satellite was launched on January 24, 2006, and is carrying three different instruments to observe Earth. Mt. Fuji is Japan's highest mountain at 3,776 meters, and a volcano that has been dormant since its last eruption in 1707.

That's really a cool image. I like how it sort of looks like the hills are encroaching on the urban area rather than the other way round.
