Rho Ophiuchi

A spectacular image of the clouds around star Rho Ophiuchi, displaying a multitude of different physical processes. Blue regions correspond to regions of reflected light from star Rho Ophiuchi and other nearby stars, emission radiation from atomic and molecular clouds appears yellow and red, and dark regions are caused by dust grains.
