Deep Impact Success

The official impact image released by NASA/JPL/UMD. The impactor probe collided with Comet Tempel 1 as predicted at 1:52 AM EDT, causing the ejecta shown in the image above. The image was taken by the flyby probe 13 seconds after impact.
