The End of the Voyager Missions

This really gets me nostalgic. The Voyager 1 & 2 space probes - launched in the late 1970's - have brought us wonderful images of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, as well as all their moons. They are reaching the edge of the solar system and are entering the "emptiness" of interstellar space, thereby symbolizing humanity's extending reach beyond the solar system. However, they now risk being lost to space with Bush's "vision for space exploration". This despite the fact that they are continuously sending back valuable data and have enough power to last them through 2020. While the loss of Hubble certainly would be the greater loss, this, too, would be a sad event.
